Here are some very beautiful and unique pieces of Birdseye maple
Of all the maples out there my favorite "maple tone" often comes from the Birdseye species...
I believe the main reason for this is because of all the small "eyes" found in the wood, there seems to often be more tiny air pockets in Birdseye then in the often more dense Flame and Quilt maples.
In general it seems that the more porous a wood is, the more resonance it seems to have.
