I find that the Honduran and African species of Mahogany have very similar
tonal response.
But I also find that the individual pieces of both species will vary greatly in tone as well as appearance and weight..
So, every piece of wood that I hand select is tested for tone.
I usually find that the lighter weight pieces have more warmth, mid-range and an open resonant musical tone (I usually prefer these as body material),
The heavier pieces tend to be a more bright "snappy" tone (I sometimes prefer these as neck material)...

Please Note:
Many of the wood samples seen within this gallery have already been processed into instrument parts (bodies, necks etc. )
Therefore, individual selections are unable to be chosen from the wood photos seen within these pages...
However, if you have a certain piece that you really like, I will do my best to find a similar piece for you, from my constantly changing selection of woods.
